EC Teacher Assistant at Ayden Elementary

Responsibilities

• Aid teachers with planning and organizing instructional activities.
• Evaluate and develop classroom procedures.
• Prepare necessary materials, equipment, and resources for teaching.
• Provide clerical and technical assistance as needed.
• Implement and follow directions from the teacher to achieve learning goals and objectives.
• Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Monitor students according to the teacher’s instructions.
• Use sound judgment to address minor conflicts and correct student behavior.
• Supervise students in various areas such as the cafeteria, playground, buses, and bathrooms.
• Inform the teacher about any issues encountered each day.
• Show positive behavior towards parents and students.
• Maintain a clean and functional environment.
• Communicate student and school needs confidentially and positively.
• Operate with punctuality, professionalism, and positivity to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
• Model positive behavior as a role model.
• Maintain a valid school bus driver’s license and accept bus driver assignments as required.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree or 2 years (minimum 48 semester hours) of higher education.
• Eligibility for a school bus driver’s license (Commercial Driving License).
