EC Adapted Curriculum Teacher

Essential Duties

• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials
• Provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student
• Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
• Maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom
• Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals
• Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicates these objectives to pupils
• Evaluates pupil performance and growth using a variety of formative and summative evaluation tools
• Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discuss student's progress and interprets the school program
• Collaborates with colleagues to promote an optimal learning environment for pupils

Qualifications

• Holds or is eligible to hold a N.C. teaching license; EC General Curriculum License
• Previous experience as an EC resource teacher preferred
• Bachelor's Degree required
• Prior teaching experience preferred
