The Gardner School of Franklin is seeking Assistant Teachers who are passionate about positively impacting children’s lives and making a difference in early childhood education. Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing engaging, age-appropriate curriculum
- Nurture each child’s emotional, social, and cognitive development
- Engage with children during learning, play, and transitions
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
- Build positive relationships with families and communicate regularly
- Collaborate with other teachers and school leaders to ensure excellence in every classroom
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent (required)
- One year of experience working with children ages 6 weeks – 5 years (preferred)
- Passion for early childhood education and a joyful, caring attitude
- Mets all Tennessee state licensing requirements for early childhood staff
- Reliable and professional with consistent attendance
- Buils positive relationships and communicates effectively with children, parents, and team members
- Maintains composure and professionalism when addressing stressful situations or unexpected challenges
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. to ensure child safety, facilitate programs, and respond to emergencies
- Infant and Young Toddler Teachers must be able to safely lift infants in and out of cribs and perform other caregiving duties
- Remains alert and engaged while supervising children at all times
- Mets all background check and fingerprinting requirements per Tennessee state licensing regulations
- Completes required pre-service, onboarding, and annual training hours
- Maintains a positive, team-oriented attitude and commitment to The Gardner School’s mission and values
