Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s in geology, geophysics, earth sciences, meteorology, oceanography or paleontology OR
    • Bachelor’s in geology AND Master’s in geography, physics, or geochemistry OR
      • Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area.
  • The equivalent.
  • Experience teaching undergraduate Earth Science courses for non-majors.
  • Experience in incorporating student-centered learning strategies and active learning pedagogy.
  • Commitment to examine, reflect, and modify instructional, relational, and classroom practices in order to effectively engage and support disproportionately impacted student populations with the goal of closing equity gaps.
