About the role

This position plans and implements an instructional program and provides related educational services for students. The role manages student behavior, assesses and evaluates student achievement, and modifies instructional activities as required. It also carries out a variety of student monitoring and control activities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement instructional programs for students.
• Provide related educational services to support student learning.
• Manage student behavior and assess student achievement.
• Modify instructional activities based on student needs and evaluations.
• Perform student monitoring and control activities as required.
• Serve as a general education classroom teacher, with classes potentially spanning single or multi-grade levels, subjects, skills, or specialties.
• Work within a team or departmental setting, or independently in a unique teaching specialty.
• May be assigned to science labs, industrial arts/technology, or other education labs requiring heightened monitoring to reduce the risk of student injury.
• Perform duties under the general supervision of a principal or other designated administrator.
