About the Role
As a student in an approved registered nurse or practical nurse school of nursing, the Earn as You Learn Tech participates in clinical coursework under the direction of an RN. This position is specifically designated for individuals enrolled in an accredited nursing program seeking clinical experience as part of their education curriculum. It is a voluntary, unpaid learning opportunity aimed at fulfilling educational requirements and gaining hands‑on experience in a healthcare setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the individualized care of patients to achieve the highest level of wellness.
- Work cooperatively with other members of the healthcare team.
- Perform designated clinical procedures and non‑clinical support tasks within the scope of the nursing school program.
- Participate in clinical coursework under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Work under the supervision of licensed healthcare professionals to enhance clinical skills, develop critical‑thinking abilities, and apply theoretical knowledge to real‑life patient‑care scenarios.
Qualifications
- Education: Enrolled in an approved registered or practical nursing program.
- Experience: Successful completion of a foundations of nursing course.
- Licensure: None required.
- Certifications, Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: As required by the nursing school curriculum and the duties performed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 lb on a regular basis.
- Prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
