Early School Extended Day Supervisor
Role Summary
Ashley Hall seeks a nurturing, organized, and proactive individual to serve as the Early School Extended Day Supervisor. This position focuses on supporting Early School classrooms and extended day teachers while ensuring a smooth, safe, and engaging transition from the academic day to the extended day program. The Supervisor plays a hands-on leadership role, supporting daily classroom operations, mentoring staff, and maintaining compliance with DSS requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Assist Early School classrooms during extended day hours
Support transitions, routines, and developmentally appropriate student engagement
Help manage behavior and provide coverage during breaks, transitions, or emergencies
Support extended day teachers with classroom needs
Provide guidance and on-the-spot assistance to staff
Assume leadership responsibilities during the Director’s absence, as needed
Attendance, Safety & Compliance
Assist with daily attendance and student dismissal procedures
Support DSS compliance, ratios, and required documentation
Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming environment
Supplies & Snacks
Assist with organizing and distributing classroom materials
Support snack preparation and distribution as needed
Physical Demands
Approximately 80% mobility (standing/moving) within classrooms
Up to 50% bending and lifting; able to lift up to 40 lbs
Sit on the floor and remain active for up to 6 hours/day
Qualifications & Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of six months’ experience in a DSS licensed early childhood program
Familiarity with DSS regulations and early childhood best practices
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with teachers, families, and staff
Professional and calm communication style, including with parents
Strong organizational skills and sound independent judgment
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Previous experience supporting or supervising staff preferred
Must meet all DSS background check and compliance requirements
