About the role
The Early Morning Stock Associate plays a crucial role in ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers. This position requires a high level of awareness and safety practices, as well as the ability to interact professionally with both customers and colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Understands and practices safety as the top priority.
- Maintains a safe and secure shopping environment by promptly correcting or reporting any unsafe conditions.
- Treats all customers and associates with respect and courtesy, recognizing fellow associates through Company recognition programs.
- Assists customers by being register-trained, assisting with merchandise, and answering questions politely and knowledgeably.
- Responds promptly and efficiently to customer service calls and handles issues courteously, escalating to leadership when necessary.
- Represents and supports the company brand at all times.
- Performs cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high-touch areas.
- Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the company’s dress code.
- Executes daily assigned sizing and recovery tasks to keep the store neat and well-maintained.
- Expedites new merchandise receipts to the sales floor, merchandising items according to company best practices.
- Understands and adheres to loss prevention policies, shortage highway protocols, and merchandise protection standards.
- Demonstrates integrity and honesty in all interactions with colleagues and customers, safeguarding confidential information and merchandise.
- Fulfills Mark-Out-of-Stock policies, identifying and processing pieces of merchandise as required.
- Handles cash, checks, charge cards, and refunds accurately, following all policies and procedures.
- Operates with a sense of urgency to maximize productivity and minimize steps in workflow.
Qualifications and Special Skills Required
- Effective communication with customers, colleagues, and store leadership.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Physical Requirements/ADA
- Ability to use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of working time.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, push, pull, and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
