Responsibilities

  • Ensure a positive shopping experience for all customers by making eye contact, smiling, and greeting them courteously and friendly.
  • Treat fellow associates with respect and maintain a clean, safe, and secure work environment.
  • Assist customers with merchandise, answer questions, and handle transactions at the register.
  • Respond promptly and efficiently to customer service calls and issues, escalating to store leadership when needed.
  • Perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high-touch areas.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the company’s dress code.
  • Perform daily sizing and recovery tasks to ensure a neat, clean, and organized store.
  • Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor, merchandising items according to company guidelines.
  • Understand and follow the Loss Prevention Awareness program and merchandise protection standards.
  • Demonstrate integrity and honesty in all interactions, safeguarding confidential information and company assets.
  • Follow all Mark-Out-of-Stock (MOS) policies, including proper identification, processing, and disposal of MOS merchandise.
  • Handle cash, check, charge card, and refund transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Maximize productivity by executing store best practices and minimizing steps in workflow.

Requirements

  • Effectively communicate with customers, associates, and store leadership in a friendly and respectful manner.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to use store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of working time.
  • Ability to regularly bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
  • Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds.
  • Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
  • For stockroom shifts: Ability to regularly push, pull, and lift more than 20 pounds.
