About the role

The Early Morning Stock Associate plays a crucial role in ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers. This position requires a high level of awareness and safety practices, as well as the ability to assist customers effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Understands and practices safety as the top priority.
  • Maintains a safe and secure shopping environment by being aware of the sales floor and reporting any unsafe conditions.
  • Treats all customers and associates with respect and courtesy, recognizing fellow associates through Company recognition programs.
  • Assists customers in any way necessary, including register training, merchandise assistance, and answering customer questions politely and knowledgeably.
  • Greets customers by making eye contact, smiling, and saying "hello" throughout the store, and "thank you" with every register transaction.
  • Responds promptly and efficiently to customer service calls and handles issues courteously, escalating to leadership when necessary.
  • Represents and supports the company brand at all times.
  • Performs cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high-touch areas.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the company's dress code.
  • Executes daily assigned sizing and recovery tasks to ensure a neat, clean, and organized store.
  • Expedites new merchandise receipts to the sales floor, merchandising items according to company best practices, and maintaining department-specific familiarity.
  • Understands and follows the Loss Prevention Awareness program, Shortage Highway, and Store Protection Specialist (SPS) position.
  • Demonstrates integrity and honesty in all interactions with associates and customers, safeguarding confidential information, cash, and merchandise.
  • Fulfills Mark-Out-of-Stock (MOS) policies, identifying, processing, and notifying leadership of disposals.
  • Handles cash, check, charge card, and refund transactions accurately, following policies and procedures.
  • Maximizes productivity by executing all store best practices and minimizing steps and touches in their workflow.

Qualifications and Special Skills Required

  • Effective communication with customers, associates, and store leadership.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements/ADA

  • Ability to use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of working time.
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
