About the role

The Retail Associate at Ross is a general purpose position responsible for ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers. Key responsibilities include greeting customers, assisting with merchandise, responding to customer inquiries, and performing various cleaning tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure shopping environment
• Treat customers and associates with respect and courtesy
• Assist customers with merchandise and answer questions politely and knowledgeably
• Greet customers by making eye contact and smiling throughout the store
• Handle customer issues courteously and report unsafe conditions to leadership
• Perform daily cleaning tasks and maintain a neat, organized store
• Manage inventory and follow loss prevention protocols
• Demonstrate integrity and honesty in all interactions

Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and associates
• Basic mathematical skills for retail environments
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds

Qualifications and Special Skills

• Effectively communicate with customers and associates in a friendly, respectful, cooperative, and pleasant manner
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments
• Ability to use all store equipment, including point of sale terminals, registers, and computers
• Ability to work up to 100% of the time standing, walking, and moving around the store
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally
