FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
- Aid the teacher in implementing the daily schedule and curriculum, focusing on the needs of the children.
- Inform the teacher immediately about any social, mental health, educational, or medical services needed for children in the classroom.
- Maintain nurturing and responsive interactions with children and keep open lines of communication with parents through individual or group meetings.
- Be flexible with your schedule to ensure high-quality care and participate in all children's activities, including classroom activities, field trips, outdoor play, swim, gym, and family or special organizational events.
- Lead by example and encourage classroom success through modeling positive behaviors.
- Resolve conflicts when necessary to ensure a positive experience for everyone, in collaboration with the teacher.
- Track and maintain correct statistical data, forms, and files on students as directed by the teacher.
- Maintain appropriate classroom hygiene and cleanliness standards, including daily cleaning of toys and surfaces.
- Inform the teacher about new equipment needs, maintenance requests, and safety concerns.
- Ensure the classroom is maintained to the highest standards by monitoring the safety and security of the children.
- Attend staff and training meetings as requested by the teacher.
- Report unsafe conditions to the teacher and correct them immediately if possible.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must successfully complete all required training and certification by the ASYMCA and DOD guidelines.
- Must successfully pass all background checks, including Installation Record Check, State Check, Fingerprint, and CNACI.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Positive attitude.
- Knowledge of Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
POST HIRE REQUIREMENTS
- Pass and maintain background check requirements as directed by the Armed Services YMCA and DOD.
- Complete Armed Services YMCA new hire training.
- Have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
PAY
Pay depends on experience and ranges from $10-$11 an hour.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to lift and carry 40 lbs. Physical demands include the ability to bend and stretch and be on your feet for long periods of time.
