Qualifications

Aide:

  • 0-12 semester units in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field
  • Ability to work with children ages 6 weeks–5 years in a child care setting

Associate Teacher:

  • 12 ECE core semester units or Child Development Associate Teacher Permit
  • 1 year of experience working with children ages 6 weeks–5 years in a child care setting

Teacher:

  • AA or BA degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field
  • 2–5 years of experience working with children ages 6 weeks–5 years in a child care setting

All Positions:

  • CPR and First Aid Certified preferred
  • Must be in good health, able to lift 30 lbs. chest high, and pass a physical exam
  • Must be able to walk, squat, bend, and stand; ability to move freely to supervise and engage in indoor and outdoor activities with children

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum directly connected to the needs and interests of the children
  • Keep children safe and healthy through proper supervision, authentic interactions, and practicing good health habits
  • Knowledge of High Scope, Developmentally Appropriate Practices, Desired Results Developmental Profile, and/or ITERS, ECERS preferred
  • Work collaboratively with other staff by practicing workplace values, flexibility, and being a team player
  • Prepare meals/snacks, maintain classroom materials, and prepare supplies required for daily activities
  • Assist children with diapering/toileting needs
  • Maintain accurate attendance records using a digital sign-in/out system
  • Provide excellent customer service for families, school, community, and each other
