Early Learning Center Full-Time Support Teacher
About the role
The Early Learning Center at Fay School (ELC) seeks a dynamic and flexible early childhood educator to function as a substitute and support for classroom instructional staff daily across our five classrooms. The ELC is a high-quality program that educates children ages 2 years nine months through 5 years with developmentally appropriate lessons and activities. The support teacher will work closely with Lead Teachers, Assistant Teachers, Teachers Aides, and the Associate Director of the Early Learning Center to provide and maintain a nurturing, consistent environment that meets the children's cognitive, emotional, social, and physical needs.
Schedule
Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm with some flexibility required, depending on the coverage needs. This is a 10 month, school year position.
Qualifications
- Completed coursework from an accredited higher education program in child development, psychology and/or early childhood education
- Minimum of one year of classroom experience in an early childhood setting
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Enjoy working in a shared and cooperative environment
Responsibilities
- Support the mission, philosophy, and core values of the ELC
- Assist in the implementation of educational activities and experiences under the guidance of the Lead or Assistant Teacher and Teachers Aide
- Maintain strong partnerships with families
- Prepare and maintain a classroom environment that supports inquiry and discovery
- Ensure a safe and secure classroom environment
- Actively support and promote a school culture of equity, inclusion, and belonging
Pay
Hourly rate of $21.30.
