About the role
Join us as we support early childhood education programs across the country to create positive outcomes for children and families. The Early Head Start Teacher (Infant/Toddler Teacher) works collaboratively with a partner Teacher to ensure the successful operation of a classroom with 6-8 children aged birth to 3 years. You will work with a team of classroom teachers and family members to implement the Creative Curriculum for Infant/Toddlers, achieving outcomes for children of all abilities.

Responsibilities
- Develop individual learning plans for each child, including goal setting based on identified needs and activities to meet established outcomes.
- Plan and implement lesson plans that advance cognitive and physical development, promote school readiness goals (social-emotional, language, emergent literacy, math, and problem-solving), and reflect individual learning styles.
- Provide developmentally and linguistically appropriate experiences for children of diverse ages, languages, and cultures.
- Collaborate with a partner Teacher to prepare and post daily lesson plans for parents, volunteers, and visitors.
- Implement daily lesson plans responsive to children’s needs, incorporating observations, anecdotal records, and early childhood development knowledge.
- Support learning and language development through active facilitation, cognitive and communication expansion, and modeling high-quality language.
- Create a child-centered daily routine and learning environment that encourages positive social interactions, active exploration, and self-motivation.
- Provide emotional support by establishing a positive climate, being responsive to children, and encouraging expression and autonomy.
- Use proactive behavior guidance strategies, such as clear expectations and positive redirection, to support readiness skills for kindergarten.
Requirements
- Infant/Toddler CDA or AA/BA in Early Childhood Education or a related field, or willingness to obtain Infant/Toddler CDA within one year of employment.
- Physical exam and background checks required.
- Travel required locally or long-distance up to 10% of the time for work-related meetings and functions.
- Must have reliable transportation.
Pay
$39,172 annually.
