What You'll Do

  • Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that fosters growth and development.
  • Build trusting relationships with children, families, and colleagues by being approachable, empathetic, and supportive.
  • Work closely with families as their child's primary educator, encouraging their involvement in the child's education and supporting the development of strong relationships between children, families, and teachers; offer opportunities for families to participate in curriculum activities outside of the classroom.
  • Develop and implement engaging daily learning experiences that cater to the unique needs, interests, and abilities of each child.
  • Ensure completion of essential teaching responsibilities, including:
    • Conducting comprehensive developmental and behavioral screenings for each child within the first 45 days and maintaining ongoing observation and assessment procedures throughout their enrollment.
    • Planning and delivering daily classroom activities that are both teacher-initiated and child-led, tailored to meet the individual needs and interests of the children.
    • Completing four family visits per year, scheduling them at the family's convenience, with a goal of two home visits and two center visits annually.

Requirements

  • To be considered, the candidate must be at least 21 years old and possess a minimum of an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, with a minimum of 6 courses in ECE/Child Development, including one course in Child Growth and Development
