Responsibilities
- Protect the physical and mental health and safety of children.
- Create an organized learning environment that promotes healthy development and skill growth.
- Implement prescribed curricula and integrate child assessment data in individual and group planning.
- Support screenings, assessments, and ongoing evaluations of children’s developmental levels and progress.
- Engage parents and family members in their child’s development and program services.
- Follow appropriate safety practices and report suspected child abuse and neglect.
- Participate in staff development and complete required training.
- Support classroom activities and assist with transitions between activities.
- Maintain a safe and engaging learning environment using age-appropriate materials.
- Communicate child observations to teachers and coordinate with professionals to address identified needs.
- Support school functions and perform other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential required within 6 months of employment.
- Previous early childcare experience preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
