Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, nurturing care for infants, toddlers, and/or preschoolers.
- Implement engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum using Creative Curriculum.
- Foster a warm, inclusive classroom environment where every child feels valued.
- Observe and assess children’s development to support their learning journey.
- Partner with families to support children’s development and learning.
- Share insights and guidance to help parents strengthen caregiving skills.
- Communicate regularly with parents in a supportive and professional manner.
- Assist in supervising assistant teachers, volunteers, and student interns.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a positive, team-oriented environment.
- Attend staff meetings and complete required trainings.
- Assist the Director with daily center operations, including classroom setup, materials, and organization.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-equipped learning environment.
- Follow all Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) and Children’s Friend policies and procedures.
- Continue working toward a degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (if not already obtained).
Qualifications
- EEC Teacher Certification (Infant/Toddler and/or Preschool) required.
- Valid driver's license (Class C or D).
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
