Responsibilities

• Create and implement educational curriculum that aligns with early learning standards and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Plan and lead age-appropriate activities that promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
• Maintain open and regular communication with parents through progress reports, parent-teacher conferences, and informal discussions.
• Ensure that all center policies and state regulations are met, and maintain a healthy and safe classroom environment.
• Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene, and safety standards.
• Assist in the implementation of curricula activities, and encourage participation by children through role modeling and coaching.
• Actively engage in activities, manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials, and ensure smooth daily transitions.
• Follow all center policies and state regulations, and maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Requirements

• Must pass health screening and clear full background check.
• Must be certified in Infant/child CPR and First Aid.
• A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.
• May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl, to handle objects, tools or controls, to talk to and hear voices at many levels, and to take frequent walks.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, and basic computer skills.
• High energy and ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents), and to foster a team environment.
• Strong understanding of child development, and at least 6 months of professional childcare experience.
• High School Diploma or GED, and significant college credit in early childhood education or related field of study.
