Early Childhood - Teacher

About This Role

The Teacher is responsible for leading a cohesive teaching team, creating a stimulating classroom environment, and overseeing the day-to-day activities of the classroom. Teachers must understand child development to ensure a safe and engaging space where children are encouraged to succeed. Effective communication with children and adults is essential to meeting child needs, guiding staff, and resolving parental concerns.

What You'll Do

• Develop and implement educational curriculum by creating classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards
• Model and coach the teaching team to success by leading by example
• Plan age-appropriate activities to engage children and promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth in individual and group settings
• Maintain open communication with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and conferences
• Ensure adherence to center policies and state regulations
• Establish and maintain a healthy classroom environment by adhering to hygiene and cleanliness standards and ensuring child safety and security
• Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers to ensure they follow planned activities, safety standards, and hygiene practices
• Accurately maintain records, forms, and files
• Maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement
