About This Role

The Teacher is accountable for spearheading a cohesive teaching team, coordinating curriculum development, and overseeing the daily operational activities of the classroom. Effective Teachers possess a profound understanding of children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development, ensuring a safe and engaging environment that fosters children's active participation and encourages their success. To meet the needs of children, communicate effectively with both children and adults, and resolve parental concerns, the Teacher must possess exceptional interpersonal skills.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and implement educational curriculum by creating classroom activities based on best practices and early learning standards.
  • Set a positive example, promote teaching team success by mentoring and coaching colleagues.
  • Plan and execute individual and group age-appropriate activities to engage children and promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Ensure the center adheres to all policies and state regulations.
  • Establish a healthy classroom environment, maintaining high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and safety for children.
  • Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure adherence to planned activities, hygiene, and safety standards.
  • Accurately maintain records, forms, and files.
  • Develop a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of professional child care experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • High energy and ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents), fostering a team environment.
  • A strong understanding of child development.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Must clear full background check and pass health screening.
  • Associate's Degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 credits in ECE.
