About the Role

We are seeking an Early Childhood Teacher to join our team at the Farmington Early Childhood Center. This role focuses on fostering the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of young children in a nurturing and structured environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and assess developmentally appropriate curriculum for preschool-aged children.
• Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
• Collaborate with families, staff, and community partners to support each child’s growth and development.
• Monitor and document children’s progress through observations, assessments, and portfolios.
• Adhere to state licensing regulations, district policies, and early childhood best practices.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices.

Requirements

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with an Early Childhood (ZA) endorsement or willingness to obtain one.
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
• Experience working with young children in a classroom or childcare setting.
• Strong understanding of child development principles and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and build positive relationships with families.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
• Experience with inclusive education and supporting children with diverse learning needs.
• Familiarity with Creative Curriculum, HighScope, or other evidence-based early childhood frameworks.
