About the role

This position is distinct from traditional classroom teaching, focusing on life skills development and fostering a supportive environment for young children.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate dynamic life-skills workshops that enable K-3 students to develop communication, concentration, feedback reception, and other enduring competencies through hands-on engagement rather than passive instruction.
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group coaching, utilizing Coachbot analytics, established motivation frameworks, and meaningful relationships to ensure every child progresses toward demanding weekly learning targets.
  • Evaluate life-skill proficiency using Alpha's Test2Pass methodology, guiding students until they exhibit genuine comprehension—not merely attendance.
  • Tailor your coaching approach to match the developmental stage of your cohort, incorporating songs, physical activity, and narrative for younger groups or emphasizing greater autonomy and responsibility for older students.
  • Establish relationships that create an environment where students feel secure enough to push past their perceived limitations.

Requirements

  • Able to work on-site at one of Alpha's campus locations.
  • Current vacancies at this compensation level are located in Scottsdale, AZ; Oklahoma City and Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Austin, Georgetown, Dallas, Plano, Fort Worth, and Houston, TX; and Park City (Salt Lake City area), UT.
  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct experience working with children ages 4-9 in teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, youth programs, or comparable settings.
  • Demonstrated history of inspiring young children to reach difficult goals, with concrete examples of your influence.
  • Ease with leveraging AI-powered learning technology while concentrating your own efforts on coaching, motivation, and life-skill cultivation.
  • Capacity to combine genuine warmth with consistently high expectations.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Background in youth athletics, children's theater, camp leadership, Montessori education, progressive schooling, or highly interactive after-school programs.
  • Direct experience pursuing and achieving ambitious personal goals in academics, sports, or professional endeavors.
  • Proven success helping hesitant or reserved children develop into confident, active contributors.
