Early Childhood Specialist, Alpha - $100,000/year USD

You won't be standing at the front of a room delivering content. Instead, you'll coach students through obstacles, recognize their achievements, and demonstrate what rigorous standards look like when combined with authentic support. You'll oversee one K-3 cohort band—either Kindergarten-1st grade or 2nd-3rd grade. Roughly half your day involves facilitating dynamic, one-hour workshops focused on life skills such as public speaking, concentration, and constructive feedback. The remaining time is devoted to coaching students in individual and small-group settings, leveraging learning analytics to ensure every child progresses toward ambitious weekly targets. Each moment counts. Students should emerge from your workshops more skilled than when they entered and leave coaching sessions convinced they're capable of more than they previously imagined.

This position isn't designed for someone seeking to deliver curriculum or run a traditional classroom. About the Role

• Facilitate dynamic life-skills workshops that enable K-3 students to develop communication, concentration, feedback reception, and other enduring skills through hands-on engagement rather than passive instruction.
• Provide one-on-one and small-group coaching, utilizing Coachbot analytics, established motivation frameworks, and meaningful relationships to ensure every child stays aligned with ambitious weekly learning targets.
• Evaluate life-skill proficiency using Alpha's Test2Pass framework, guiding students until they exhibit genuine mastery—not simply attendance.
• Tailor your coaching approach to match the developmental stage of your cohort, whether that involves songs, physical activity, and narrative techniques for younger children or greater autonomy and responsibility for older students.
• Cultivate relationships where students feel sufficiently supported to push past the limits they previously believed defined them.

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Delivering academic instruction from a whiteboard. Students complete academics through adaptive software.
• Creating curriculum from the ground up. You'll refine and customize proven playbooks rather than designing lessons independently.
• Observing students as they work quietly on computers. Your role centers on active coaching, encouragement, and relationship-building.
• Reducing expectations in response to difficulty. Success is achieved by supporting students to meet the standard, not by lowering the standard.
• Overseeing homework, grading assignments, or managing routine parent communication.

Responsibilities

Build a cohort of K-3 students who are excited to attend school, reliably meet ambitious learning targets, and develop the life skills that position them for long-term success beyond elementary education.

Requirements

• Willing to work on-site at one of Alpha's campuses.
• Bachelor's degree in any subject.
• At least 3 years of experience working directly with children ages 4-9 through teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, youth programs, or similar environments.
• A demonstrated history of motivating young children to reach challenging objectives, with concrete examples of your influence.
• Comfort leveraging AI-powered learning while directing your own efforts toward coaching, motivation, and life-skill cultivation.
• The capacity to combine warmth with consistently high expectations.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Nice-to-have Requirements

• Background in youth sports, children's theater, camp leadership, Montessori, progressive education, or high-engagement after-school programs.
• Personal history of reaching ambitious objectives in academics, athletics, or your career.
• Exceptional storytelling or performance abilities that naturally engage young children's attention.
• Proof of helping hesitant or reserved children develop into confident, active participants.
