About the Role

We are looking for a qualified infant teacher to join our team at Learn As We Play. This is not a summer-only position. If you feel children learn through play, are excited to see children grow and learn, have a great positive personality, and want to work Monday-Friday (no weekends), this role may be a great fit. We seek dependable and reliable team members who enjoy a job where children are excited to see you each day.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and/or implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
  • Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
  • Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
  • Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
  • Maintain a healthy classroom environment, including hygiene, cleanliness, safety, and security of children.
  • Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they follow planned activities, hygiene, and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records, forms, and files.
  • Maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Requirements

  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and foster a team environment.
  • A strong understanding of child development.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Must clear a full background check and pass a health screening.
  • Ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools, or controls, and communicate at various voice levels.
  • May be required to kneel, bend, squat, or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities, including close and distance vision, color perception, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Nice to Haves

  • Early Childhood Credits and/or experience.

Pay

Pay will vary depending on education and experience in the field and Early Childhood Credits.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, no weekends.
