Early Childhood Instructor

Faculty position in a technical-college setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality classroom, lab, and clinic instruction; teach assigned courses; develop and deliver course documentation; demonstrate effective interaction with students; align instruction and materials with course objectives; create engaging class activities; employ diverse teaching techniques; organize instruction.
• Offer academic advising, assist with student recruitment, develop and implement retention activities, support graduate placement, participate in student orientation and registration, and provide appropriate safety instruction.
• Maintain orderly classroom, lab, and clinic environments; hold eight office hours per week; submit required reports on time; prepare budget projections for equipment and supplies; practice good housekeeping; perform minor equipment repairs.
• Design new academic programs, revise existing curricula, develop new courses, update instructional materials, and serve on advisory committees.
• Participate in college committees, perform public service for the institution, supervise or chaperone student events, promote the college’s mission and objectives, and build relationships with employers of graduates.

Requirements

• A doctorate or master’s degree in the teaching discipline, or a master’s degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the discipline).

Schedule

Monday–Thursday, 8:00 am–5:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am–11:30 am. Schedule may vary based on course assignments.
