Early Childhood Homeroom Teacher (KG-Grade 2)

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging thematic lessons in literacy, numeracy, and social sciences for early elementary students.
• Create a structured, positive, and developmentally appropriate virtual classroom environment.
• Use interactive teaching strategies, movement, arts and crafts, manipulatives, games, visuals, and storytelling to actively engage young learners.
• Foster student participation, confidence, and independence while maintaining strong classroom management.
• Develop and implement standards-aligned lesson plans that meet the developmental needs of students in KG–Grade 2.
• Differentiate instruction to support a variety of learning styles and abilities.
• Utilize digital learning tools and hands-on tools to create meaningful and engaging learning experiences.
• Integrate Islamic values and character education throughout instruction.
• Conduct ongoing formative assessments and observations of students through running records.
• Monitor student growth and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and families.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievement.
• Support students’ academic, social-emotional, and behavioral development.
• Establish strong partnerships with parents through regular communication and collaboration.
• Identify and address individual student needs to ensure success.
• Encourage a positive and inclusive classroom community.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and collaborative planning sessions.
• Reflect on instructional practices and implement feedback for continuous improvement.
• Contribute positively to Bayaan Academy’s mission and school culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education.
• Minimum of 4 years of teaching experience in Kindergarten through Grade 2.
• Minimum of 1 year of online teaching experience.
• Energetic, lively, patient, and enthusiastic teaching style with strong classroom presence.
• Ability to effectively command students’ attention and maintain engagement throughout lessons.
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
• Proficiency with educational technology and digital learning platforms such as SeeSaw, Class Kick, PowerSchool, Wayground, Kahoot, and Class Dojo.
• Commitment to fostering academic excellence within an Islamic learning environment.
• Preferred qualifications include a U.S. Teaching License, experience teaching in an Islamic school setting, knowledge of best practices in early literacy and numeracy instruction.
