About the role
The Francis Howell School District (FHSD) is seeking a dedicated Vacation Station Facilitator - Special Needs to support the Program Coordinator and Assistant Program Coordinator in planning and supervising a school-age program at an elementary school site. This role is crucial in creating an enriching environment that promotes both academic and social development for students with special needs in preschool.
Responsibilities
- Adapt and modify activities to meet the individual needs of students.
- Assist students with developing adaptive skills, such as managing personal belongings, buttoning, snapping, and bathroom routines.
- Oversee and support students during lunch, focusing on developing positive lunch habits and social interaction skills.
- Help students during transitional periods to make these transitions less challenging and stressful.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to create and implement modified lesson plans tailored to the specific needs of individual students.
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (required); completion of 60 college credits in a related field preferred.
- Experience: Relevant job-related experience desired.
