Early Childhood Education Lead Teacher

Responsibilities

• Develop strong nurturing relationships with children and families.
• Plan and implement culturally appropriate learning experiences.
• Support each child's safety, health, and unique development.
• Utilize best practices to provide appropriate services.
• Collaborate with staff, families, and specialists.
• Conduct home visits and parent-teacher conferences.
• Report and respond to incidents and emergencies using safety protocols.

Qualifications

• A passionate commitment to Adelante Mujeres and support for immigrant and BIPOC communities.
• A minimum of an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Education, including significant preschool-focused coursework.
• At least 2+ years of professional experience working with preschool-age children.
• Bilingual-Bicultural proficiency in Spanish and English.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, email, and classroom technology.
• Prior experience working with low-income Latine families.
• Training and/or education in working with children with special needs.
• Committed to education, social justice, women's empowerment, and the environment.

Additional Requirements

• ORO (Oregon Registry Online) Step 8+
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 40 pounds.
• Twist, bend, reach, stoop, carry weight, think strategically about moving heavy items.
• Prolonged walking and standing.
• Sit in child size chairs and on floor for ½ hour at a time, as appropriate for child-centered activities.
• Complete Criminal Background Registry enrollment under Oregon Department of Early Learning and Care (CCLD).
• Current Infant & Child First Aid/CPR certification (or acquired within 90 days from date of hire).
• Current Oregon Food Handler Card (or acquired within 30 days from date of hire).
• Online training: Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect (RRCAN), Prevention is Better Than Treatment (PBTT), and Introduction to Childcare Health and Safety (ICCHS).

Pay & Benefits

Salary range: $50K-$57K depending on qualifications
Classification: Salary, 40 hours per week for 10 months (mid-August – mid-June).
