Early Childhood Development Educator - Supervisor
Position Specifics
The Child Care Center at Hort Woods, on the University Park campus, is seeking a candidate for an Infant/Toddler Supervising Early Childhood Development Educator position (working with children ages 0-3 years old). This teacher serves as a master teacher, supervises staff, coordinates and implements the development of lesson plans and assesses children/maintains records. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Serve as a master teacher
- Supervise, train, and develop staff, students, and work study staff
- Advise director/coordinator of staffing needs
- Cookordinate and implement the development of lesson plans, maintaining records, and ensuring a safe and supportive classroom environment
- Plan, coordinate and implement parent involvement programs
- Assess children and maintain records
- Provide various reports to management
- Communicate with management on classroom, personnel and other issues
- May complete various administrative tasks
- Serve on search committees as assigned
- Oversee child/teacher assignments
- Serve as a “master” teacher
- May be asked to oversee program in absence of program administrator
- Perform additional work activities of teachers at all levels as needed

- PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form
- Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check
- The National Sex Offender Registry Clearance (NSOR)
Salary & Benefits
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $40,608.00 - $58,836.00. Salary Structure - Information on Penn State's salary structure
