Early Childhood Center Manager
HELP New Mexico (HELPNM) was created in 1965 by the interdenominational New Mexico Council of Churches to support education in their community. Today, their legacy and impact carry on through HELPNM’s work as a fully-owned subsidiary of CPLC. The Office of Learning and Academic Opportunity (OLAO) provides services to children and families from birth to eight years of age, focusing on education, health, and social/behavioral development. OLAO combines programming for children and adults to build strong and stable families.
About the role
You will oversee the day-to-day operations of a site and supervise up to 20 staff within HELP NM Early Childhood Development (ECD). Responsibilities include managing center operations and ancillary services such as early childhood education, calendars, staff schedules, supplies, and food service in compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, CACFP requirements, NM Childcare Licensing requirements, and HELP NM ECD Policies and Procedures.
You will collaborate with Content Coordinators to promote school readiness, preparing children and families for school and life success. Active supervision of children by sight and sound in all environments is required, along with maintaining health and safety regulations to create an optimum learning environment. You will also facilitate health practices to ensure children's safety indoors and outdoors.
Responsibilities

- Manage early childhood education services, calendars, staff schedules, supplies, and food service.
- Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, CACFP requirements, NM Childcare Licensing, and HELP NM ECD Policies and Procedures.
- Coordinate with Content Coordinators to promote school readiness for children and families.
- Actively supervise children by sight and sound in all environments.
- Maintain health and safety regulations to create a safe learning environment.
- Facilitate health practices for indoor and outdoor safety.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Upon CDA completion, must begin coursework toward a Bachelor’s degree.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1-2 years of supervisory experience required.
- Knowledge of program finance, budgets, data entry, and computer software preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Valid Driver’s license and current auto insurance.
- TB test or Chest X-ray.
- NM ECECD Background Clearance.
- First Aid/CPR Certified or must obtain within first 6 months of employment.
- Must obtain Food Handlers card upon hire.
