About the role

The Early Childhood assistant works closely with the lead teacher and a team of experienced colleagues to provide a caring and warm Waldorf early childhood experience for our youngest students.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the lead teacher and team to create a nurturing environment for young children.
  • Support the lead teacher in planning and implementing daily activities that align with the Waldorf curriculum.
  • Assist in preparing meals and snacks for the children, following safety guidelines and dietary requirements.
  • Engage in outdoor play and activities, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of the children.
  • Collaborate with the lead teacher to develop and maintain a safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children in early childhood settings.
  • Certification or other early childhood credentials preferred.
  • Enthusiasm for serving the needs of young children and a commitment to a school with a strong vision.
  • Comfortable with both indoor and outdoor play, cooking, and modeling household activities for children.
  • Ability to solve problems with discernment while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Dependability, flexibility, and the ability to joyfully collaborate with the lead teacher.

Qualifications

  • Experienced in working with children in early childhood settings.
  • Certified or credentialed in early childhood education.
  • Enthusiastic about the Waldorf approach to early childhood education.
  • Comfortable with both indoor and outdoor play, cooking, and modeling household activities for children.
  • Able to solve problems with discernment while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Dependable, flexible, and collaborative in nature.

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of Waldorf early childhood education principles.
  • Proficiency in child development and safety practices.

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Several part-time positions with differing work week schedules are available.
