About the role

Paul D. Camp Community College seeks adjunct instructors to teach Early Childhood Education courses. The college offers associate degrees, certificates, and career studies certificates in various programs.

Responsibilities

  • Create a learning environment that facilitates students' acquisition of knowledge and skills in Early Childhood Education.
  • Teach using instructional design, delivery, effectiveness, and expertise.
  • Engage in scholarly and creative activities such as conference attendance, professional organization participation, coursework, research, and grant activity.
  • Support the college’s mission and policies, attend and participate in department, committee, and college meetings, adhere to college and VCCS policies, and perform assigned duties.
  • Maintain a collegial working relationship with faculty and staff.
  • Participate in the college’s development and evaluation plan for part-time teaching faculty.
  • Perform special assignments as assigned.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • Ability to design and implement curricula aligned with student learning goals.
  • Experience with various teaching and learning strategies for traditional and non-traditional students.
  • Knowledge of methods to teach Early Childhood Education through distance learning.
  • Ability to learn and utilize various technologies for communication, data organization, presentations, etc.
  • Experience with proven teaching strategies promoting student success.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to staying current and improving knowledge in the field.

Qualifications

  • Community college or four-year college teaching experience.
  • Experience with alternative delivery methods including online, hybrid, and Hyflex courses.
  • Willingness to incorporate Artificial Intelligence into the curriculum.
  • Experience integrating technology into education.

Benefits

Adjunct teaching responsibilities vary as needed by the institution. Individuals may teach up to 12 workload credits in each term (fall and spring) and 8 workload credits in the summer term.

Schedule

May include work during the day, evening, or weekends, as needed by the institution during the academic year.

Pay

$793 per credit hour - minimum salary
