EAP Program Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

  • Initial and continuous needs assessment of EAP staff.
  • Clinical Supervision of EAP Counselors:
    • Weekly meetings with each counselor
    • Monthly clinical meetings with All EAP Counselors
    • Chart reviews
    • Annual evaluations
  • Providing direct services to clients.
  • Program Development based on needs assessments.
  • Developing educational and marketing materials to promote the program.
  • Consulting with senior staff to assess the ongoing needs of the staff.
  • Organizing community resources to address the issues impacting city government employees.
  • Staffing/scheduling of services.
  • Reporting directly to EAP Deputy Director of Clinical Services

Minimum Qualifications

  • For Assignment Level I: Master's degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological or environmental science or in public health.
  • For Assignment Level II and above: Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental or social science and one year of full-time experience in a responsible supervisory, administrative or research capacity in the appropriate field of specialization; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental or social science and three years of responsible full-time research experience in the appropriate field of specialization; or Equivalent combination of education and experience which includes a master's degree in an appropriate field of specialization and at least two years of experience described in "2" above.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in trauma work, substance use treatment, crisis-intervention and group work.
  • Public speaking, presentation and workshop development and execution.
  • Three or more years of post-graduate experience in a mental health field.
  • Familiarity with NYC agencies and employee populations.

Residency Requirement

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
