Job Summary
The position is responsible for managing and supporting internal broadband network infrastructure for schools and libraries under the federal E-Rate program. This role oversees the design, implementation, and maintenance of network systems, including access points and switches, while ensuring compliance with all E-Rate guidelines.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Cook up and support E-Rate Managed Internal Broadband Services (MIBS) projects, guaranteeing all services meet program and FCC compliance requirements.
- Oversee the operation, management, and monitoring of the internal network, including eligible hardware like access points, routers, switches, and wiring.
- Handle technical issues and offer support to ensure reliable and uninterrupted connectivity for educational activities.
- Document and maintain accurate inventories, service logs, and compliance reports for all E-Rate funded projects.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
- Absorbed or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Networking, Telecommunications or a related field; or equivalent experience required.
- Experience in IT systems, broadband network management, or related technical support role.
- Experience with E-Rate programs, FCC compliance, or educational technology environments preferred.
Skills
- Strong understanding of the E-rate program and its associated regulations.
- Technical knowledge of network hardware (access points, routers, switches) and infrastructure.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Analytical and reporting skills to track program performance and finances.
- Ability to work with and interpret technical documentation, such as ITIL frameworks for service management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and collaborative abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- ERP implementation is a plus.
