E/M Technician B - Manufacturing

About the role

Combine knowledge of mechanical technology with knowledge of electrical and electronic circuits to install, operate, test, troubleshoot, and repair electronic/mechanical systems. Tasks involve both working with engineers to develop electrical/mechanical systems and assembly line production work, performed with limited guidance from higher-classified technicians.

Responsibilities

• Perform difficult manufacturing assignments under minimum supervision
• Align, fit, or assemble component parts to complete a system
• Assemble and repair hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies
• Test and troubleshoot electro-mechanical assemblies for proper operation
• Read manufacturing outlines for electronic products, schematics, and technical drawings
• Understand technical operating, service, or repair manuals
• Monitor processes, materials, or surroundings to detect or assess problems
• Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify causes of errors or defects
• Communicate with supervisors, peers, or subordinates via telephone, written form, email, or in person
• Develop and train lower-classified employees as required
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, plus two years of formal technical training (via military or civilian technical schools)
• Minimum of 7 years of electrical or mechanical experience
