About the role

The Electrical Inspector ensures proper procedures are utilized, electricians are certified and qualified, and proper documentation (including red lines) is maintained. Responsibilities include verifying cable/wire termination and circuit continuity, maintaining records of received and installed items, and confirming materials match the bill of materials. The role also involves verifying installation depth, orientation, and labeling of components, all per approved construction drawings and company specifications.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the installation of electrical and SCADA systems and equipment.
• Verify electrical and SCADA systems are installed per design requirements.
• Ensure installations meet Federal, State, and Local codes, as well as client standards.
• Confirm electricians working on the client’s system are licensed for the jurisdiction.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to read, interpret, and implement client policies and procedures.
• Minimum of five (5) years of field-based experience providing electrical inspections on plant/station construction/modifications for natural gas transmission facilities.
• Experience in all phases of electrical and instrumentation construction, including handling, inspection, installation, testing, commissioning, and start-up.
• Broad knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, and control system construction, commissioning, and inspection best practices.
• Knowledge of electrical construction inspection, quality assurance, quality control, and safety requirements.
• Understanding of construction grounding, stray current mitigation, and related safety requirements.
• Ability to use test meters to check electrical circuitry continuity and oversee contract work.
• Knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including NFPA 70 (National Electric Code) and 49 CFR PART 192.
• Employment contingent upon completing applicable training during onboarding, including Operator Qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical Degree.
• OSHA Certification.
• API-1169 Certification.

Work Environment

• Travel to construction sites, client right-of-way (R.O.W.), client testing facilities, and corporate offices.
• Extensive driving to job sites and/or client/E2 offices.
• Frequent climbing of ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and similar structures.
• Maintaining balance on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces.
• Lifting objects in excess of 50 pounds.
• Visual inspection of construction work, use of measuring devices, and assembly of fabrication parts at close distances.
• Exposure to extreme temperatures (below 32°F or above 100°F) for extended periods.
• Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments across all seasons in the continental U.S.
• Awareness of potentially dangerous situations, including heavy machinery and vehicle back-up alarms.
