E&I Designer

HGA is seeking a Jr-Mid Level E&I Designer for a direct-hire role in our Woodlands, TX office, responsible for supporting engineering design, drafting, and project delivery across multiple projects.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesWork under the supervision of the E&I Lead EngineerUnderstand project scope and seek clarification as neededUnderstand and support drawing package deliverablesMaintain work within assigned budget hoursPerform field work to identify:Cable routingsSpare motor starter cubiclesSpare power panel circuitsJunction box sparesSpare I/O, etc.Prepare AutoCAD drawingsEnsure company and/or client drafting standards and design practices are followedCommunicate needs, delays, or issues to the Lead EngineerReview and interpret vendor drawings related to E&I scopeCheck all work for completeness and accuracy prior to submissionComplete work efficiently to support project deadlinesProvide engineering/design support tasks including:Assembling document packagesMaking copiesConverting .dwg files to PDFsRequired Preferred Qualifications8+ years of experience in the oil and gas industryProficient in AutoCAD 2019 or higherProficient in AutoCAD 3D modeling (CADWorx experience preferred)Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word (Access is a plus)Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to interface with clients as neededStrong prioritization and execution skills in a high-pressure environmentWillingness and ability to learn and apply new technologiesGeneral knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and industry standardsExtensive knowledge of CAD and engineering design softwareMust be able to commute to the Woodlands office several days per weekPreferred Qualifications Experience with control panel design (strongly preferred)Experience with a consulting engineering firm (strongly preferred)Electrical and/or Instrumentation technical degree (preferred)CADWorx experience preferredAccess is a plusEqual Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled
