E I&C Technician

About the Role

Responsible for basic operational knowledge of all plant systems including five GE 7EA Combustion Turbines and 2 GE 7HA Combustion Turbines. Perform operation of the equipment within specification and environmental regulations while working under the direction of skilled Plant Technicians. Responsible for continuing to learn the proper function and perform maintenance of equipment at a Gas Plant for the Gas fleet, promoting safe, effective, and reliable operation.

Responsibilities

• Assist and perform troubleshooting of plant equipment, preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure proper functioning.
• Conduct daily maintenance, construction, demolition, overhauls, repair/replacement, and removal/installation of plant equipment and structures.
• Provide skills for maintaining equipment at the plant.
• Perform clearances in Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) under the direction of a senior operator or supervisor.
• Utilize and operate various types of hand, power, precision, or machine tools to support safe and productive work environments.
• Maintain a working knowledge of all electronic control systems and computers.
• Understand and follow current safety and environmental regulations necessary to conduct all phases of work.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety, health, and environmental procedures, including Lockout Tagout, Job Safety Analysis, Confined Space, Hot Work, Electrical Safety, and PPE.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of related experience or cross-industry experience.
• High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or equivalent.
• Standard computer-based skills.
• Effective oral and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel 25% of the time.
• Successful completion of the Plant Operator Selection System/Power Plant Operations and Maintenance (POSS/MASS) program.

POSS/MASS exams are administered on an as-needed basis by Human Resources, and all communication concerning testing is sent to the candidate's email address provided during the application process. The level of the position will be determined by applicable skills and experience.

• Progression of skill within the primary skill set.
• Satisfactory completion of Tier 2 job performance measures, predominantly composed of sign-offs demonstrating different primary and auxiliary system operations and maintenance relevant to the primary skill.
• Demonstrate continual self-improvement in job skills and knowledge.
