E-Commerce Product Counsel

About the Team

We are looking for a lawyer to support our rapidly growing e-commerce business teams. Our legal team provides support to all aspects of TikTok Shop. We are looking for talented, humble, globally-minded attorneys who are technically savvy, are comfortable with ambiguity, and are strong team players. This is a highly collaborative, on-site role and requires five days per week in the office.

Responsibilities

• Work with legal and product teams globally to review products, features, and new initiatives to provide legal risk mitigation strategies to ensure legal compliance for TikTok Shop from a US legal perspective.
• Cook up with product, product operations, public policy, communications, and other cross-functional colleagues.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of TikTok Shop initiatives through legal review and providing guidance on relevant legal frameworks.
• Review and analyze potential legal risks associated with new product developments and business strategies.
• Assist in the development of internal policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.
• Provide legal support on a variety of e-commerce related matters.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree plus a Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school and member in good standing of a U.S. state bar with experience in private law practice or in-house, providing product counseling for a technology company or application.
• Experience working with international teams in various time zones in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
• Excellent and concise written and verbal communication skills.

Job Information

[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (Annually) The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $134,400 - $235,600 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units. Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
