Central Garden & Pet Company (NASDAQ: CENT) is a leading innovator, marketer, and producer of quality branded products for the pet, lawn, and garden supplies markets. Our Dog and Cat business unit is searching for an E-Commerce Marketplace Specialist to support our e-commerce growth across a variety of marketplaces, including Nylabone, Cadet, Four Paws, and Best Bully Sticks brands.

About the role

Reporting to the Sr. E-commerce Marketplace and DTC Manager, the E-Commerce Marketplace Specialist will help manage sales-driving initiatives as well as detailed inventory and financial reporting to maximize success across marketplaces. This position is based out of our Neptune City, NJ facility 5 days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Understand, inform, and implement E-Commerce strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Prepare weekly financial statements, sales reports, profitability analyses, and inventory analysis.
  • Track and manage changes to the product assortment across various marketplaces.
  • Prepare and troubleshoot inventory reconciliation reports.
  • Track and manage open cases with various e-commerce marketplaces.
  • Work with relevant stakeholders on inventory reclamation tickets and tracking.
  • Assist with POS reporting and analytics including tracking trends and making recommendations to drive sales.
  • Execute promotional activities with an eye for optimization and improvement and update content calendars.
  • Monitor listings and proactively highlight risks and opportunities.
  • Conduct regular site walks to ensure product visibility, accurate pricing, and compliance.
  • Analyze sales data to forecast future sales trends and stock requirements.
  • Set up new items and manage inventory levels across platforms, accounting for promotions and market changes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including SEO and Retail Media, to enhance item support and visibility.

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience in e-commerce with prior experience supporting Amazon Seller Central.
  • Strong understanding of e-commerce marketplaces, particularly Amazon and Walmart.
  • Experience with inventory management and complex case resolution.
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills and experience.
  • Detail-oriented and self-driven.
  • Ability to learn new tools and technology to support the business.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with strong communication (both written and verbal) skills.
  • Intellectual curiosity and thirst for innovation and success.
  • Passionate about the role of technology in commerce.
  • Highly organized, accurate, quick learner, proactive, and have a positive attitude.
  • Knowledge of the pet space is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
