Job Description

The Dyslexia Teacher/Reading Intervention position at Tulia Junior High School is responsible for providing specialized instruction to students with dyslexia and other reading difficulties. This includes implementing evidence-based interventions, monitoring student progress, and collaborating with teachers and parents to support learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized reading intervention programs tailored to each student’s needs
• Assess and monitor student progress using standardized tests and classroom observations
• Collaborate with teachers and parents to develop and implement comprehensive educational plans
• Attend professional development workshops and training sessions related to dyslexia and reading intervention
• Participate in IEP meetings and other school-related activities as needed

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in education or a related field
• A master’s degree in special education or a related field preferred
• Valid teaching certification in Texas
• Experience working with students with dyslexia or similar reading difficulties
• Knowledge of evidence-based reading interventions and instructional strategies

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of educators and community members.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

The Dyslexia Teacher/Reading Intervention position is full-time and works Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend hours as needed.
