Dyno Engineering Manager
Functional Ownership
The Dyno Engineering Manager will serve as the primary technical authority and functional lead for Ford’s advanced EV powertrain dyno engineering. This role is designed for a high-level technical expert who can bridge the gap between facility infrastructure and advanced automation.
Automation Consultancy
Act as the lead subject matter expert (SME) for internal engineering groups, providing hands-on guidance to help them set up and automate custom, one-off test rigs and specialized hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) systems.
Technical Architecture
Architect and maintain the "gold standard" for real-time controllers and data acquisition systems (DAQ), ensuring seamless integration of fault injection and automated test sequences.
Standards Development
- Define and enforce technical standards for test automation (using LabVIEW, Python, and VeriStand) to ensure code reusability, safety, and data integrity across all testing platforms.
Facility Engineering & Expansion
Lead the technical specifications and engineering oversight for the relocation, expansion, and commissioning of new dyno cells and high-voltage laboratory spaces.
Advanced Instrumentation
- Specify, install, and calibrate complex data acquisition hardware, ensuring compatibility with various communication protocols (e.g., CAN, EtherCAT, LIN, SPI).
Cross-Functional Mentorship
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and technicians across the organization, fostering a culture of technical excellence in hardware-testing methodologies.
