About the Role
A part-time Personal Trainer provides personal training services that help members maximize workout efficiency, improve fitness, increase stamina, and enhance overall well-being. Trainers schedule and complete record-keeping tasks while spending most of their workweek engaging with members through personal training, onboarding, or complimentary services. They educate members on Life Time's Core 3 Brand and Philosophy.
Responsibilities
- Develops safe, professional, and comprehensive personal training programs to ensure client satisfaction and motivation toward fitness goals.
- Monitors and instructs clients during sessions on the safe and effective use of cardiovascular, flexibility, and strength training equipment.
- Educates members on current health and fitness issues and trends.
- Conducts fitness consultations for new clients, including pre-participation screening, medical history, lifestyle questionnaires, and goal setting to recommend personalized training programs.
- Refers members to appropriate personal trainer levels based on their needs.
- Fulfills member service requirements such as fitness assessments, equipment operations, service desk duties, and fitness equipment cleaning.
- Promotes and sells personal training programs and services.
- Completes all administrative tasks associated with each client’s fitness plan.
- Stays current on certifications and new trends in the fitness industry.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Certified Personal Trainer.
- CPR and AED Certified.
- 1 year of personal training experience.
- Knowledge of fitness, cardiovascular training, nutrition, and program design.
- Ability to perform aerobic activity for the duration of a session and physically handle bending, standing, reaching, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, or a related field.
Pay
This position is paid on a commission basis tied to performance goals, with a minimum pay exceeding one-and-one-half times the applicable minimum wage per hour.
