Dynamic Childcare Companion

JOB REQUIREMENTS

A local family in the Wausau area is seeking a Dynamic Childcare Companion to assist in providing care and support for their 9-year-old boy. You will play a vital part in creating a safe, fun, and enriching experiences that promotes growth, learning, and confidence in this wonderful young boy!

• Schedule: Tuesday 4:30pm-8:00pm - OCCASIONAL
  Wednesday 3:30pm-8:00pm
  Thursday 5:00pm-8:00pm
  Friday 8:00am-1:00pm
  Occasional weekend hours available
  Shift times may change mid-summer-to be discussed at the time of interview
• Wage: $16.80/HR

TASKS

• Participate and attend community events that align with member interests
• Provide positive reinforcement and encouragement to promote independence and self-confidence
• Plan outings to be active together, such as playing at a park, ice skating, playing in the snow, trampolines, soccer, etc.
• Monitor and ensure safety of member at all times
• Demonstrate a positive attitude
• Ability to remain calm and redirect defiant behaviors and or emotional challenges
• Celebrate wins together as a team

REQUIREMENTS

• Experience working with developmental disabilities as well as behaviors is a plus!
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to stay calm and patient in stressful situations
• Energetic and quick on the feet
• Valid driver’s license
• Must be 18 years of age or older to apply
