Job Title Dyeing/Kuster Lead| Monday- Friday Position Overview This position is Monday- Friday 3pm-11pm. POSITION OBJECTIVE: Assist the Supervisor in the daily operation of the shift, with an emphasis on training and quality improvement. Maintain a working knowledge of all Kuster jobs as may be required to relieve, replace, or assist operating personnel for absences, or unscheduled downtime. Essential Duties Verify job procedures by observation to ensure all jobs on the line are performed correctly. This includes but is not limited to greige roll lay-up, sew-on, operation of tanks, pumps, lines, and valves for batch runs, Instacolor, fluid-dyer, steamers, SST, chemical application, dryer, and roll-up equipmentInspect dyed rolls and maintain required reportsPerform required computer data entry/close-outsConduct on-the-job training with all new line employees if neededProvide directions/instructions/guidance to all line personnelAssist with shade matching on carpet by visual inspectionLine up production by speed groups and color sequencingMay be required to be on job 30 minutes prior to shift changeAssist in monitoring operations to ensure a quality product is being producedFill in for supervisor when needed, however, disciplinary action will be handled by Supervisor or Department ManagerAssist in keeping work areas in a clean, orderly manner Other Requirements Must be able to pass the Munsell Color TestMust have some basic computer skillsAnalytical and problem-solving abilitiesBasic reading and math skills requiredLeadership abilities for motivating employeesMust be able to follow through with instructions, handle stress, and stay focusedManual dexterity to perform all aspects of the jobCommunication and interpersonal skillsAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructionsWork in normal industrial environment with inherent background noise, dirt, humidity, and temperature variationsThe employee works near moving mechanical parts and in precarious placesThe employee may have to handle dyes and chemicals Shaw Benefits Include Medical, dental, vision insurance Life insurance and disability coverage Tuition reimbursement Employee assistance program Health savings account Paid time off Parental leave 401K and Retirement plans Product discounts for employees Adoption assistance Shaw Family Health Center (Dalton, GA and Cartersville, GA locations) And much more!
