DVM Student Externship - [Central Hospital For Animals – Carbondale]

Job Summary

We are seeking a Full Time DVM to join our team at our Marion and Herrin locations. We are a small animal hospital with exotics, offering flexible scheduling, pro-sal compensation, and full benefits.

About the Role

Central Hospital for Animals has a team of 6 veterinarians and 35 support staff, providing comprehensive care since 1978. We are located in Southern Illinois, known for its natural beauty and diverse cultural offerings.

Responsibilities

• Treatment of sick and injured animals
• Performing surgeries under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian
• Assisting with routine check-ups and vaccinations
• Collaborating with the veterinary team to develop treatment plans

Requirements

• Current license to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Illinois
• Experience with small animals and exotics preferred but not required
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Qualifications

• Must be an active veterinary student from an AVMA accredited institution
• Must be enrolled in a program leading to a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree
