DVM Student Externship - [Big Bend Animal Hospital]

About the role

Big Bend Animal Hospital is a well-established, progressive, state-of-the-art, fast-paced, single-doctor small animal practice in Riverview, FL. We offer comprehensive care services including preventative care, surgery, dentistry, cold laser therapy, in-house diagnostics, digital full-body radiology, medical and/or vacation boarding, and grooming.

Located just south of Tampa near Brandon Mall, Riverview is a fast-growing area with a rural feel. It offers easy access to I-75 for commuting to Tampa Bay or Sarasota, with attractions like Busch Gardens, Florida Aquarium, Zoo Tampa, beaches, boating, and Ybor City. The area also features excellent public schools.

Responsibilities

• Enhance veterinary education through real-world clinical experiences.
• Work alongside a DVM mentor in a 1:1 setting.
• Participate in preventative care, surgery, diagnostics, and other veterinary services.

Requirements

• Must be an active veterinary student from an AVMA-accredited institution.
• Compassionate, team-oriented, and a strong communicator.
• Open to 1st through 4th-year veterinary students.
