DVM Student Externship - [Animal Emergency Clinic and Intensive Care Facility]
Serving Northwest Louisiana & East Texas, Animal Emergency Clinic and Intensive Care Facility operates from 6pm to 8am throughout the week. Our purpose is to serve the community's pet owners in the event that an emergency occurs after Primary Care has closed. Our highly trained staff provides intensive care, emergency surgical procedures, and hospitalization options. The clinic is fully equipped with digital x-ray, ultrasonography, spacious surgical suites with monitoring equipment, in-house laboratory machines, oxygen therapy, and a cat-friendly ward to deliver the best quality medicine at the time of the visit.
About the role
We’re looking for 1st through 4th year veterinary students who are compassionate, team players, and strong communicators eager to enhance their education through real-world experiences.
Responsibilities
- Participate in emergency and intensive care cases under supervision
- Assist with emergency surgical procedures and hospitalization
- Engage in diagnostic processes using digital x-ray, ultrasonography, and in-house laboratory equipment
- Develop communication skills with pet owners and team members
Qualifications
- Must be an active veterinary student from an AVMA-accredited institution
