About the Role

CTECS is seeking a passionate and student-focused Durational Physical Education/Health Instructor to deliver engaging, standards-based instruction using innovative teaching practices. In this role, you will help students develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to lead healthy, active lives while fostering teamwork, resilience, and lifelong wellness. You will create a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all learners are encouraged to reach their full potential through student-centered instruction, differentiated learning, and physically engaging activities.

You will also build strong partnerships with families, collaborate with colleagues, and participate in ongoing professional learning to continuously enhance your instructional practice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction in Physical Education and Health.
• Promote active learning and student success through innovative teaching practices.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages all learners to reach their full potential.
• Utilize student-centered instruction, differentiated learning, and educational technology.
• Build strong partnerships with families and collaborate with colleagues.
• Participate in ongoing professional learning to enhance instructional practice.

Requirements

• Valid Connecticut State Board of Education certification with endorsements in Health (043) and Physical Education (044).
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year university or college (preferred).
• Well-versed or experienced in high school Physical Education and Health curricula.
• Eligibility for a State of Connecticut teaching certificate in the subject area (includes ARC candidates).

Schedule

• Durational Position: 2026-2027 school year, ending June 30th, 2027.
• Full-time (35 hours per week), Monday through Friday, first shift.
• Follows a ten-month academic calendar (188 days per year).
